Following in the footsteps Brussels, Bergen, Crete, Dublin and Copenhagen the 6th tri-annual EORNA Congress and Exhibition was held at the Lisboa Congress Centre from Thursday, 26th to Sunday, 29th  April 2012.

In spite of the present unfavourable economic conditions the number of participants at the Congress exceeded 1400 and came from 42 countries including South Korea, Canada and New Zealand. Swann-Morton's team were kept busy throughout the event with the nursing staff being particularly interested in sharps injury prevention especially with the new EU legalisation due to be introduced in May next year.

The 7th Congress is scheduled to be held in Rome, Italy in May 2015.
